IBM Ultrastar 36Z15 is the first high-performance 15,000RPM hard disk drive to achieve up to 36 gigabytes of storage capacity. This drive, with its peak performance, is ideal for Web hosting, e-commerce applications, data mining and transaction processing. In addition to a new capacity point and shorter latency, this Ultrastar also achieves a media transfer rate of up to 647 Megabits per second and seek time as low as 3.4 milliseconds. Faster seek times and data transfer rates speed up information retrieval and contribute to the overall performance of the drive.
