WD Enterprise hard drives range in capacity from 4.5 GB to 18.3 GB. Western Digital employs magnetoresistive (MR) head technology in its low-profile Ultra and Ultra2 SCSI products. Ultra2 LVD (Low-Voltage Differential) hard drives feature host data transfer rates of 80 MB/s-twice as fast as Ultra SCSI-in addition to multi-mode operation between Ultra SCSI and Ultra2 SCSI, and performance enhancements including the Command Queuing Engine, adaptive caching, and real-time error correction (ECC) capabilities. The Ultra2 SCSI interface offers increased flexibility with maximum cable lengths up to 12 meters, support for 16 SCSI devices, and reverse compatibility with legacy SCSI products.
